Takin' it to the Streets By Bob Chochola
BOBZILLA.tv was in attendance at the Ft. Worth 912 Project March on Washington DC.
The video to follow is the beginning of Judge Napolitano's keynote address. He concludes his speech, after talking about the Stamp Act 1765 and its importance (if not direct responsibility for) our fighting a revolution, by bringing it full-circle to the Patriot Act of 2001.
He reminds us that we fought a revolution with England for freedom and independence, but the "last straw" Nepolitano refers to in his speech was the Stamp Act of 1765.
The Stamp Act gave the King's soldiers the ability to write their own search warrants and do whatever they pleased in the name of the King's orders - this included helping themselves to whatever they wanted in the homes and lives of ordinary citizens.
The Stamp Act set The Revolutionary War in motion, and in order to win our freedom and liberty once-and-for-all from our European oppressors, many people fought and died. Many more Americans have paid the ultimate price in wars that came after The Revolution - in the name of freedom and liberty.
The Patriot Act was delivered in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on America on 9-11.
Designed to "protect" America and signed into law by then president George W. Bush in 2001, it gave federal agents the ability to write their own search warrants and without court approval impose their will on ordinary Americans.
Something to think about while you watch this video...
