Autumn back home in the Midwest means hay rides, apple cider, taffy apples (or Affy Tapples), the Harvest Moon Dance, making your own Halloween costume, a long drive in the country to admire the explosion of fall colors, and a trip to the pumpkin patch to pick out that perfect specimen to be stationed prominently on your front porch come Halloween night.
The post-carving stage is known as Jack-O-Lantern. No doubt, the task is to find just the right shape pumpkin for that spooky face you have in mind.
We took the girls on a trip to a pumpkin patch in Grapevine, Texas and found quite a few other folks looking for "Jack" too.
